Saudi Arabia is bluntly rejecting a declassified U.S. intelligence report launched Friday by the Biden administration implicating Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman, the dominion’s de facto ruler, within the ugly October 2018 killing of U.S.-based Saudi dissident journalist Ahmad Khashoggi.

U.S. intelligence analysts concluded that MBS, because the 35-year-old prince is extensively recognized, needed to have been conscious of the mission carried out by numerous prime Saudi officers concentrating on Khashoggi on a go to to Istanbul, though the report stated it was not clear if the purpose was to kill Khashoggi, a distinguished critic of the prince, or merely to seize him and take him again to Riyadh.

“The related authorities within the kingdom took all doable measures inside our authorized system to make sure that these people have been correctly investigated, and to make sure that justice was served. The involved people have been convicted and sentenced by the courts within the Kingdom, and these sentences have been welcomed by the household of Jamal Khashoggi,” the assertion continued.

Just like the Biden administration, the Saudi ministry expressed hope the bilateral relationship can survive the intense strains sparked partially by the Khashoggi case. The State Division stated Friday is was imposing new visa restrictions on dozens of Saudi officers within the wake of the intelligence report’s launch.

“We look ahead to sustaining the enduring foundations which have formed the framework of the resilient strategic partnership between the Kingdom and the USA,” the Saudi assertion concluded.
