Russian opposition chief Alexei Navalny has arrived in a penal colony about 100km (60 miles) east of Moscow to start his sentence.
Russia’s RIA information company stated the jailed Kremlin critic was transferred from a detention centre in Moscow, citing a public fee that defends the rights of Russian prisoners.
The title or actual location of the penal colony was not revealed.
Alexander Kalashnikov, of Russia’s federal penitentiary service (FSIN), instructed reporters: “In line with the court docket’s determination, he left to the place he presently must be. Every little thing is completed throughout the framework of the regulation and the present laws.”
